The Harvey and Bob Show
Two guys talk about movies. And more movies. And other movies. And DVDs. Frankly, we're a little worried.

Famous Monsters Convention

Jean-Luc Godard famously said "All you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun."  (Jean-Luc Picard famously said "Tea.  Earl Grey.  Hot.")  This week, El'Ahrai and John take the "gun" part of that to its logical conclusion, with lists of their Top Five Murders in Film!  Also, the Famous Monsters of Filmland Interview Series continues with Tom Savini and Low Budget Films.  Plus!  Reviews of "I Am Love" and "Operation: Endgame"!  I would rather watch "Beautician and the Beast". I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald.

Product placement!  The necessary evil that makes the film world go 'round!  This week, John and El'Ahrai discuss their Top Five Examples of Product Placement!  Also!  More Famous Monsters of Filmland interviews, this week featuring Ernie Hudson and Ruby LaRocca!  Plus!  Reviews of "Inception" and "The Bannen Way"!  If I could go back in time, I would want to meet Snoopy.

It's a great big super giant show, as El'Ahrai and John have come back from the Famous Monsters of Filmland Convention with interviews and other delights!  This week, there are interviews with "The Devil's Rejects" star William Forsythe and King of all Geekery Harry Knowles!  The fun continues with lists about the Top 5 Things About Attending Conventions!  So much great stuff!  Really!  Plus!  Reviews of "Predators" and "REC 2"!  I kinda like to think of them as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern meet Vladimir and Estragon.

Six months have passed.  Half of 2010 is in the books.  That means it's time for the Annual Half-Year In Review Show!  Yes, this week the boys establish their Lists of the Top 5 Movies of the Year So Far!  Plus!  Reviews of "Knight and Day" and "Brooklyn's Finest"!  Now, you're thinking about this all wrong!  It's not so much what you look like, it's what's inside that he can't stand.

London calling!  Grab your passports, because this week on John and El'Ahrai's World Tour, we're heading to the Big Smoke, telling of their Top Five Films About London!  Plus!  Reviews of "Toy Story 3"and "The Crazies"!  I tried taking pictures, but they were so mediocre.  I guess every girl goes through a photography phase.  You know, horses...taking pictures of your feet.

It's another Harvey and Bob Show EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW as El'Ahrai talks to James Nguyen, writer-producer-director of "Birdemic:  Shock and Terror"!  Also:  every movie fits into some genre.  Most fit into smaller subgenres.  And a select few fall into very tightly-defined microgenres.  This week, El'Ahrai and John go over their Top 5 Examples of Microgenres.  Plus!  Reviews of "Birdemic:  Shock and Terror" and "The A-Team"!  All right miss, I'm gonna make this quick.  Who did this to you?  Hmm?  Not talking?  All right, it's your funeral.

The WABAC machine takes us back to 1987 this week, a time when the U.S. Senate declined to rubber-stamp the nomination of Robert Bork, Perl was created, AND Kristin Cavallari was born!  With all these universe-shattering events, someone STILL found time to release--and even WATCH--movies!  This week, John and El'Ahrai run down almost their Top 5 Movies of 1987--again, there is an absence that may surprise you.  Plus, reviews of "Splice" and "Get Him To The Greek"!  See how easy that was?  Boom, still alive.  Now we question him.  You know why we question him?  Because I got him in the leg.  I didn't shoot him full of holes or try to jump off a building with him.

In the world of DVD, there is one name that symbolizes great world cinema presented in the best possible manner:  The Criterion Collection.  (Yes, even moreso than Digital Playground.)  This week, El'Ahrai and John discuss their Top 5 Criterion DVDs--and one absence may surprise you.  Plus!  Reviews of "Prince of Persia:  Sands of Time" and "Sex and the City 2"!  Don't pretend you haven't noticed my cardboard box, Julia, because I know you have!

They're at it again.  After nearly two years of detente, John and El'Ahrai step into the octagon once more to snipe, jibe, and otherwise air their differences of opinion, in another round of what we sometimes call "How Could You BE So Wrong?!".  Feel free to pile on to one or both through the e-mail address.   Plus!  Reviews of "Shrek Forever After" and "Finale"!  Jack, nothing tricky now.  You know I'm on top of you!  DO NOT attempt to grow a brain!

Heeeeeeeere's, as they say, Johnny!  This week, the career retrospective spotlight falls on none other than Jack Nicholson.  Thrill as El'Ahrai and John spend hours upon hours dissecting Jack's performance in "The Rebel Rousers", plus other, more obscure works.  Plus!  Reviews of "Robin Hood" and "The Human Centipede (First Sequence)"!  Heineken?  Why, it's the finest beer in the world!  President Kennedy used to drink it!
